Puppy Culture

Giving our puppies the best chance and success
There are a million ways to raise a litter, a million methods and routes one could take. That said we are confident in the Puppy Culture program and have seen its success far and wide with puppies we have raised and trained.

What Exactly is Puppy Culture?

This program was developed to be a complete guide to raising puppies for breeders and puppy owners alike. The program goes from pregnancy through the first twelve weeks of life using science and research to touch every aspect of the growth and development of you puppies.

This type of system will give any puppy a solid foundation to grow on that can affect their lives, long term, for the better. It is also a wonderful community of professionals and breeders that support each other, is constantly developing and growing, and gives insight and support into every aspect of the journey of raising a resilient and stable litter.

The entire program focuses on having the necessary and ideal information available to breeders and owners at the right stage so that you are making optimal use of the moments that affect dogs in early development for the rest of their lives.

The accompanying list contains some of the many topics and areas covered in this program and it is easy to see how puppies that go through this program are set up for success when these foundations are built before they are even sent to their new homes.

We have the complete program (including the original film, Attention is the Mother of All Behaviors, Killer Free Stack, Puppy Scent Games, Puppy Party, Stack and Deliver, Winning in Motion, Shaping Emotional Responses, With Open Arms and a Level Head, From Newborn to New Home, and The Joy of Singletons) utilize the workbook and keep a complete book for each litter (tracking pregnancy and whelping info, puppy weight, height, activity scores, notes, and additional info all in one place), utilize and walk puppy owners through the age appropriate exercise chart (that goes up to two years of age), and give our puppy owners copies of the exercise booklet and spay/neuter booklet in their go-home packets.

Why Do We Use Puppy Culture?

Everyone has their own reasons for utilizing programs - experience, knowledge, guidance, specific goals... In truth for many of us it is a combination of many different things, but we will address some of our reasons for embracing this program into our breeding program.

Success

Evaluating and training working dogs has given me exposure to dogs who have been through this program and we have used aspects in our program - it works!

Foundation

Each puppy deserves every opportunity at their best life and so much of early development and exposure is responsible for the base of their life.

Guidance

Part of being a good breeder is knowing you can always learn. Why only use limited info when you can learn from 100s of litters and years of experiance.

Community

The program is about more then videos and books. There is a support system for participants where they can talk, research, and support eachother.

Research

Years of research and development are behind this program. It was created by a trainer and breeder with the assistance of pet professionals from every field.

Versatility

Every puppy will go to a different home and their program allows for versitility in training, seletion, and continuing education for every new puppy owner.

Puppy Culture & Beyond!

Puppy Culture is not just a program but it also is an ideal to keep bettering your breeding program and puppy raising skills. This has caused not only Jane (the creator of Puppy Culture and founder of Madcap) to keep adding secondary programs to the original ideals and focus, but for other breeders and trainers to expand upon things touched on in the original films to keep helping us bring wonderful puppies into the world and help them become the best dogs they can be.

While every litter is different we try to fit in the following programs and systems so that our puppies are able to benefit from the skills they can learn here no matter what their intended home may be.

  • Unplugged Series
    • Killer Free Stacks
    • Attention Is The Mother of All Behaviors
    • Stack and Deliver
    • Puppy Scent Games
    • Puppy Party
    • Winning In Motion
    • Shaping Emotional Responses
  • From Newborn to New Home
  • Crate School
